“I used to be interested in the Oscars when my mom was around. Since her passing not long ago, I stopped watching. Makes me sad.”

“I used to watch all the time but stopped when it became political. I liked it for the beautiful fashion and the fun comments. It became too heavy — and definitely not fun. Just exhausting.”

“I used to love the award shows but have no interest now. Too many political statements. I hear enough elsewhere every day from both sides. I just want to enjoy the celebration of films, and that doesn’t happen anymore.”

I love learning about different aspects of filmmaking and the personalities, past and present, who’ve built the industry. I also love seeing how actors, directors, producers, cinematographers, makeup artists, costume designers, and other professionals gather together to celebrate their industry and toast the colleagues who’ve reached the very pinnacle in their fields.”
