Before The Night Begins, Answer This
Welcome back to Poll Of The Day — today’s question is all about what keeps the evening interesting.

TODAY’S POLL
What’s your favorite way to spend a night out? |
LAST POLL RESULTS
41.1% of you voted Dependably on time in yesterday’s poll: How would you describe your sense of time?
“I hate being late and also waiting for others who don’t seem to know how to keep time.”
“I hate waiting.”
“I can’t stand when people are late! Are they really ‘that’ important that they have to make me wait? How rude!!!”
“It’s rude and inconsiderate to arrive late, no matter the event. Your own funeral might be the one exception.”
“I do not understand people who are always late. It is SO disrespectful and selfish. I go out of my way to never be late to anything. I would feel awful making someone feel like I don’t care about their time. I always arrive early to events. It’s such a basic common courtesy.”
“I abhor being late — I’d rather be an hour early than one minute late.”
“For the most part, usually on time, maybe five minutes before or after. I hate it when someone is chronically late — it makes me feel like you work for the cable company or something, lol!”
“I’m good with others being 5, maybe 10 minutes late. Anything more than that is ridiculous.”
“I do my best to be on time — not too early so the host doesn’t feel rushed, and not too late because that’s just rude. I have a pretty decent sense of time and distance.”
“Let me qualify: in person, online, Zoom — almost always early. On paper, usually right at the deadline. The more presentation prep and input that’s needed, the greater the procrastination... sigh.”
“Dependably on time is good for a Black family.”
“I normally show up a bit early, so I can find parking and get in there!”
“I almost always give myself extra time to arrive. If I get there early, I just wait until the stated time.”
“Brought up by an Army man.”
“I was taught in the military that if you arrive on time, then you are late.”
“If I’m due somewhere at 9:00, you will see me by 8:50.”
“I try SO hard, but there’s just something in my DNA that runs slow.”
“Usually run a little late.”
“Always 5-10 minutes behind.”
“I am chronically late, which is a bad habit, but somehow feels most efficient! I think it’s a protest against my late father, who always had us ridiculously early — and I hated that waste of time, like arriving 20 minutes early for church!”
“I used to CONSTANTLY run late. I have really made an effort in recent years to manage my time better and get where I need to be as close to on time as I can.”
“I used to be chronically late when I was younger. I realized how that affected others and got it together to try to be more on time. I’m on time when meeting friends or if I have an appointment. When it’s just me going out, I can often be late to things.”
“About the only time I am late is when I have to depend on someone else to get to where I am going.”
