LAST POLL RESULTS

47.3% of you voted National chain (CVS, Walgreens) in yesterday’s poll: What’s your go-to pharmacy?

“I like that wherever I go, they have my records on file, and I can easily have my prescriptions filled at different locations.”

“I use a national chain for the drive-through convenience. However, I am sure there are ‘cheaper’ options.”

“💯💯💯💯💯💯”

“Out of convenience, not brand loyalty.”

“Closest to my house and the one my insurance uses.”

“Like I have a choice. My insurance requires me to go to CVS.”

“Walgreens.”

“WALGREENS FOR MOST, BUT OPTUM ALSO.”

“Would rather use an independent pharmacy, but my insurance only covers CVS, Walgreens, or Walmart. Unfortunately, it comes down to $$$.”

“We’ve always gone to Walgreens. It’s been our neighborhood drugstore forever. They’re also headquartered in our city. It’s a ‘nice’ drugstore.”

“I live near a Walgreens within walking distance of my home that’s easy to get to.”

“Walgreens is everywhere and easy to go to!!”

“We used to frequent Rite Aid, but now it's mainly CVS.”

“Before I retired two years ago, it was a mail-in service due to the convenience. Now I’m stuck using CVS. Not going to bore y’all with my complaints, as I’ve heard all the others can be just as bad. Unfortunately, CVS is like a second home for me, with as many meds as I have to take. 🤦‍♀️”

“Getting too hectic at CVS now that Rite Aid is gone — and so are all the memories tied to it. I’m getting mine from Giant, but they’re starting to get backlogged as well. My mom said she’s started going to Weis for her pharmacy; it’s never crowded. I’m thinking I may just get them delivered.”

“National chain pharmacies are unbelievably understaffed.”

“I don’t like having a go-to pharmacy, but when in need, my pharmacy is at Safeway.”

“Oregon legislation and fees have caused the closure of SO many pharmacies that there are only two options left in my town. The lines at the Safeway pharmacy are BRUTAL, so Walmart it is...”

“When you live in a rural area, you have limited choices. Walmart is always in stock, with competitive pricing and a friendly staff.”

“Our Smith’s grocery store is our go-to for vaccines and prescriptions, as well as groceries.”

“It’s very convenient — pick up your Rx and shop at Mariano’s!”

“It should be Kroger, but we just haven’t taken the time to switch.”

“I like Publix because they don’t shut down for lunch breaks. Also, they call and remind me when prescriptions are ready.”

“More personal care and saves time.”

“I deliberately have my prescriptions sent to a local pharmacy. I do shop at Walgreens and CVS too, though, for over-the-counter stuff — too convenient not to, even though I’d rather use only local/indie...”

“Support local businesses.”

“Have been with a small independent for over 20 years, since Walmart Pharmacy started messing up my prescriptions. My scripts are usually filled within an hour of being called in. Stayed with them even in retirement.”

“I use the VA, which mainly operates by mail-order pharmacy. It’s a pretty simple system to use and request refills.”

“Kaiser — I don’t get a choice.”

“Kaiser has its own pharmacy onsite.”

“My husband’s meds are from our health insurance pharmacy. It’s part of the plan, and they’re all filled on a schedule and arrive before he runs out — it works well.”

“Nothing but issues with Walgreens, so I switched to Amazon Pharmacy and save $268 per year, not even using insurance to purchase.”

“I use Amazon mail-in pharmacy. It saves me money over my local CVS. I can get a three-month supply of the prescription with the mail-in pharmacy rather than monthly refills.”

“Only for the two prescriptions covered by insurance. Others through holistic, specialty herbs and supplements via various non-conventional doctors and practitioners.”

“I don’t take prescription medications regularly, so I rarely visit pharmacies — except perhaps to buy hand lotion or cosmetics, which I usually get online.”

“Thankfully, I haven’t used a pharmacy in four decades. I take care of myself spiritually, mentally, and physically and haven’t had any surprise ailments. I’m vegan and fit, and I have my blood tested quarterly to monitor my health. My friend has been diagnosed with diabetes, and I’ve declared myself his personal trainer — he’s improving!!”
