No Dents, But Maybe A Dividend
Welcome back to Poll Of The Day — today’s question asks if an uneventful year on the road should pay off.

TODAY’S POLL
Do you think drivers should get money back on their annual car insurance if they don’t have any accidents that year? |
LAST POLL RESULTS
41.5% of you voted Yes, I believe I have in yesterday’s poll: Have you ever experienced what you believe — or suspect — was paranormal activity?
“I believe in spirits, not ghosts per se, but when my brother passed at a young age, his toys would still go off every now and then (even unplugged with no batteries), and we would always say it was him just stopping by to say hi.”
“I have a friendly ghost in my classroom. He was really quiet during COVID, but he came back when students returned. He likes to make sounds from my cabinet and will occasionally type on my computer or move things around the room.”
“I have had definite ghostly visits.”
“Regularly and sometimes intentionally!”
“Yes, I do believe I have with my friends. It was a crazy night, one I won’t forget. Although my friend’s son ended up ‘accidentally’ taping over our evidence with The Land Before Time, lol!”
“Not to go all woo-woo on y’all, but I’ve experienced it more than a few times. I said that.”
“Oh, yes! 100%.”
“Time-traveled in Hampton Court Palace.”
“I had the same dream intermittently for years, from the time I was about 8 years old. Sometimes it was the same; sometimes it had a little added on to it. It was extremely sensory and real-feeling, much more so than other dreams. I never said anything about it. Then, when I was about 19 years old, I went to an exhibit at a museum and saw displays referencing the time it seemed my dream occurred. The items seemed distantly familiar. I walked into a reconstructed building and felt an extreme feeling of peace and belonging. I didn’t want to step out, and when I forced myself to, I felt bereft. I had the dream again shortly thereafter, where it appeared I was murdered. I never had the dream again, and it’s been over 50 years.”
“I grew up in an early 19th-century house, and there were always unexplainable things happening.”
“Ghost in my house. A little child.”
“I grew up in a haunted house, and that’s just one of many stories.”
“I dreamed one night that I came across a person lying on the floor who appeared to be dead. When I rolled the person over, they had no face. I got up and checked on my family, and all were sound asleep. A few days later, early in the morning, I received a telephone call that my father-in-law was on the floor at his house. When I arrived at the house, I rolled him over, and he was dead. It was his face that was hidden in my dream.”
“I believe people like me may have never experienced paranormal activity because we explain it away: ‘That must’ve been just a trick of the light.’”
“I woke up in the middle of the night and could see blue, pulsing lights outside. My curtains were a sheer material, so even without opening them, I could tell they weren’t like law enforcement blue lights. And I lived in the woods with no close neighbors, so the lights wouldn’t have been from another driveway or road. It was just kind of eerie and quiet, but I was not compelled to investigate further.”
“I’m not sure if this counts, but I’ve prayed for a positive outcome, and it came true. I have never felt any ghosts or anything like that, although I was a little scared there might be something hiding under my bed as a child.”
“I’ve had people visit me in dreams to deliver messages, but not actual ‘activity.’”
“NO SUCH THING.”
“Nope. Seen a UFO, though! I KNOW WHAT I SAW!!”
“I wish I had a better story here.”
