Not All Seasons Feel The Same

Welcome back to Poll Of The Day — today’s question is about whether your mood has seasons of its own.

TODAY’S POLL

LAST POLL RESULTS

57.3% of you voted I wait until they’re safely inside. in yesterday’s poll: When you drop someone off, how long do you usually wait before driving away?

“WHY WOULD YOU NOT DO THAT??”

“Anything besides waiting until they’re inside is crazy.”

“Most of the time it is my friends who are young women. So we wait for each other to get in.”

“As a woman, you always wait until the person is safely inside.”

“Being a woman and hanging with my girlfriends mostly, we have to look out for each other. We always wait until they’re in the door safely, and we ALWAYS text each other to let us know we made it home safely. That’s just common sense and common decency, if you ask me. 😁”

“100% — if I’m dropping someone off, young or old, male or female, I always wait until they’re safely inside. All my friends are the same way. In that rare instance, it can be annoying if I’m not quite ready to go inside right away, but it’s a necessary courtesy. I do appreciate it.”

“Being a girl’s girl, you ALWAYS wait for your friend to get inside safely — whether that friend is a girl or a guy, but especially girls!”

“I will abide by girl code until my last breath: wait until they’re in the house/car and the door has closed, nobody goes to the bathroom or outside alone, nobody leaves with a rando, and make sure they got home from that first date. It may be called ‘girl code,’ but it’s applicable to everyone I care about.”

“It’s important to make sure they get inside safely.”

“I always wait until I see them go inside their house.”

“They have to be inside the front door before I am driving away.”

“In today’s world? Definitely waiting until they are safely inside.”

“I wait until it seems safe to leave them. If it’s a child, I wait until I see the parent.”

“I usually wait until they reach the entrance, giving them extra time to remember anything they forgot — whether material or thought-wise. Unless it’s kids; then I make certain they get in the door.”

“Depending on the place, I may wait longer, but for nearly all the places I’m typically dropping someone off, waiting until they reach the entrance is sufficient.”

“It depends on the situation, how long I wait in the driveway, and the person. If it’s my wife, then I wait until she gets inside. Another male? I wait until he gets out of my vehicle.”

“Late at night, when I’m driving someone home, I wait, look for a light to turn on, and the door to close. With older friends or kids, I might walk them to the door just to be super sure all is good. Rarely do I drive off without being sure everything is okay. Airports don’t always allow me to wait and make sure all is good for whomever I’m dropping off, which is hard when that person is an older traveler.”

“At my age, there’s rarely an occasion for me to give anyone a ride — they usually give me a ride. When I drove more, I would always wait for the person to go inside and then give me a thumbs-up.”

“Waiting until they are safely inside is the polite thing to do… always.”

“I don’t have a car.”
