Still Saved After All These Years
Welcome back to Poll Of The Day — today’s question takes a look at the phone numbers collecting digital dust.

TODAY’S POLL
What do you do with the contact information of people you’re no longer in touch with? |
LAST POLL RESULTS
29.3% of you voted Yes, and then I suddenly get tired of it in yesterday’s poll: Do you ever go through phases where you eat the same meal repeatedly?
“Most definitely, but unlike in the past, I do get tired of it, so I’ll take a break for a while. Chinese food has always been one of my favorites, and I could never get enough beef lo mein and moo goo gai pan. I felt like I could eat it every day, but now, not so much. Same with a good hamburger, but thinking of eating one right now is making my stomach churn, even though I still love them! Must be another byproduct of the aging process, lol!”
“No more pizza!”
“I have a sensitive system, so I eat a lot of the same things every day. Occasionally, I can switch it up, which is nice.”
“Yes, it’s true — we have a couple of set meals we’ve mastered that we eat often. When we get tired of the same routine, we change it up. It’s fun to find a new dish that’s tasty and easy to make.”
“I am constantly searching for new weeknight recipes and different ways to cook the few veggies my family will eat. It’s so easy to get stuck in a rut and find yourself eating basically the same thing every night!”
“Sometimes we eat the same meal two or three times in a week, and by the third time, I want something different. But my wife could eat salads with fresh veggies every day.”
“Grew up in rural Kansas and never knew my love for Asian food until I moved to Colorado. I could eat it every day.”
“Back in college, it was cereal and sandwiches daily. The forks in my drawer were rarely touched, while the knives and spoons were always in the sink!”
“I’ve eaten a PB&J every day since middle school — even on holidays. I need to eat my sandwich before the turkey or Christmas ham.”
“Half a Teddy’s peanut butter sandwich on a slice of organic wheat bread and a few chips... since 1973!”
“Same breakfast every morning for years. Other meals always vary, but breakfast is the same.”
“I am a retired empty-nester and a widow, but I still have a hard time cooking for just one. When I do cook, I end up with several meals, so I put them in containers in the fridge or freezer to have on the ready for a quick meal. Thank goodness I enjoy my own cooking!”
“I generally cook my own meals, and often I make three portions, so I end up eating the same meal repeatedly. But I’m such a good cook, it’s not a problem.”
“I prepare food on the weekends, so I end up eating the same things off and on throughout the week — it’s the only way I can stay consistent with somewhat healthy choices when I get out of work late.”
“ONLY WHEN I MAKE TOO MUCH.”
“Rarely. Perhaps if I make a lot of chili or chicken soup. Otherwise, ‘variety is the spice of life’ is my motto.”
“Variety is the spice of life.”
“I’ve never understood people who eat the same thing all the time. I enjoy food too much not to enjoy its variety. The same goes for going to the same restaurant — there are too many out there to explore.”
“I eat what my mood desires.”
