Tell The Charcuterie Board The Truth
Welcome back to Poll Of The Day — today’s question has no wrong answer... almost.

TODAY’S POLL
If you had to choose, which cheese pairing is your favorite? |
LAST POLL RESULTS
56.2% of you voted Include it in the invitation in yesterday’s poll: What do you think is the best practice for sharing an event’s address?
“If you invite someone to an event, they need to know beforehand where it’s being held. It’s not correct to let people know after they RSVP or just before the event.”
“Where an event is held may determine whether a person can attend or whether it isn’t feasible to attend.”
“If you want attendance, then tell people where you want them to visit.”
“Location will be a determining factor for my attendance, so it needs to be on the invite.”
“I’m not going to commit to something if I don’t know where it’s going to be…”
“Duh!”
“Anyone who doesn’t think location details should be included in an invitation is diabolical.”
“Why would it be any other way than sharing it up front? People would want to know where the location is, so they can decide the distance and whether they can get there before RSVPing.”
“Without an address, how would a person even know if they could attend?”
“How can an invitee respond without a destination?”
“If you’re sending an invitation to someone, presumably you trust that person with the information.”
“I think as many details as possible should be included in the invitation. That way, everyone gets there on time and everyone has fun. 🤩”
“Nothing’s worse than getting an invitation and not knowing where it is. On Facebook, it happens ALL the time!”
“The fewer event notifications, the better.”
“Why is this even a question? The address is often vital information in the decision-making process for whether to attend or not.”
“It depends. You need to know what to expect and where, so you’ll know whether you can do it or not. Some venues are self-explanatory by name, but others may not be. I’d hate to have to renege on a yes RSVP if I found out later it was out of town or out of my budget, if you know what I mean?”
“Sometimes RSVPing yes depends on where an event is being held, so having that information as part of the invitation helps. I can understand there might be a good reason in some circumstances, such as a small venue, for the location to be shared after someone RSVPs.”
“BETTER TO WAIT TO AVOID THE UNINVITED.”
“You have to be careful because it can lead to unwanted guests and put people’s lives in danger.”
“The everyday person doesn’t need security for events — just send the address. We’re not all Taylor Swift. ;)”
