The Classics Might Be Overrated

Welcome back to Poll Of The Day — today’s question asks if the classics are timeless reads or simply relics of their time.

TODAY’S POLL

LAST POLL RESULTS

31.2% of you voted Dining out at a restaurant in yesterday’s poll: What’s your favorite way to spend a night out?

“Dining out is a great way to spend an evening. For years, we’d always go to the movies. When a new film came out and got a great Roger Ebert review, we’d race to see it. On Mondays at work, we’d all talk about the movies we saw over the weekend.”

“Good food, conversation, and relaxation always work.”

“I enjoy being served, wined, and dined.”

“With family or friends.”

“If we get to see a concert after, even better!”

“Keep theater alive!! Go to the theaters!!! Art is not dead.”

“Live theatre is my happy place!”

“Nothing compares to the magic that sometimes happens with live performance (theater or music). I would have a far less rich life without such moments.”

“I have about 2-3 concerts a month from now through October.”

“I love going to see live music, whether it’s a big concert or a local band in a small club. I also love going to the ballpark to watch a game.”

“Going to a hockey game.”

“I love to go out and be entertained, basically sitting on my butt enjoying the talent of another person or persons. At night, I’m generally too tired to want to be part of the entertainment, so bars and clubs are out. Live entertainment is my favorite.”

“I don’t go out much anymore, but when I do, I love going to a concert with my friends. I’m totally looking forward to taking my son next month to see the final tour concert of ACDC! That is gonna be AWESOME!”

“When we do go out at night, we enjoy dining and live entertainment.”

“If I’m going out these days, it’s usually to see a concert or other live event. Otherwise, you can find me at home in my PJs!”

“I love bars, clubs, and live music... but then I got married and had kids. So now, parties and social events are all I get.”

“Going dancing.”

“All of the above, actually. I can’t pass up a good concert day 🌞 or night 🌙. I love going out, although night driving has become more challenging with the crazy headlights on the road. I haven’t lived in a big city for a while, so I’m not sure if being out and about at night is as easy or safe as it once was.”

“We’re almost never out after dark. If we do go out, it’s usually for some kind of live entertainment, but even that’s only about twice a year. I live in a rural area, and it’s 15 miles to anything happening at night. I can cook as well as — or better than — most local restaurants. At home, it’s quieter, and there’s never a chance of a DUI. 😁”

“I can have more fun at home for a lot less money and don’t have to drive.”

“TOO OLD FOR THAT. HATE DRIVING AT NIGHT.”

“As an old fuddy-duddy, I pick staying inside and not going out at all!”

“My wife and I are retired and usually don’t go out at night. However, we did go to the movies with friends one evening last week. That was a nice change.”

“I don’t really go out much, but when I do, I like to go to a movie and/or a nice restaurant. Sometimes I just like going to the beach and hanging out somewhere quiet. On weekends, I may go hiking or take a walk by the water.”
