This One Walks Right Up

Welcome back to Poll Of The Day — today’s question enters the chat uninvited.

TODAY’S POLL

LAST POLL RESULTS

44.1% of you voted Once a day in Friday’s poll: How often do you shower?

“At least.”

“Unless I need another one.”

“Shower in the morning to be fresh for my clients, and shower in the evening to be fresh for my husband.”

“Shower in the morning. Bath at night.”

“And when I need to!”

“Every morning. It’s my coffee.”

“Once a day and always in the morning.”

“Daily! Except on Sundays — I put on my pajamas Saturday night and don’t take them off until Monday morning!”

“Twice a day during the week — after a workout before heading into the office, and then another before bed. Typically once a day on the weekends.”

“I shower at the gym after my workout, so basically the more I work out, the more I shower.”

“I swim and shower off every day at the pool, but I only shower at home every other day to wash my hair.”

“Mostly, I make sure to do it every other day, especially for washing my hair. But sometimes I shower every day if I REALLY need to cool off after working out or helping in the garden when it gets hot — or because of perimenopause.”

“Occasionally, if I’m not going out or seeing anyone, I might skip a day.”

“In the summertime, I used to shower twice a day. Now it depends — sometimes every day, or I’ll skip a day if I haven’t been that active.”

“Summer, sweaty season — maybe a few times a day. Doing yard work any time of year, or swimming in a pool, pond, or ocean... another shower. Sitting home doing nothing, maybe skip a day.”

“At least once — again if I do yard work, mowing, or woodpile work.”

“Summer and outdoor activities increase this frequency, of course. Gotta rinse off that sweat!”

“It depends on the season — in summer, it’s every day. Also if there are special occasions, etc.”

“Winter, every other day. Spring, summer, and fall, every day.”

“Winter, every other day because my skin is so dry — but spring, summer, and fall, every day.”

“Can’t start my day without one — especially a nice, hot one on a cold winter morning.”

“Depends on what I did that day. I work from home, so sometimes I can go an extra day.”

“Depends on the situation and how much, if any, exertion I put out. Getting physical requires every day. Spending the day behind my computer? Every other day.”

“At least three times a week — usually Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. More frequently if I need it, depending on activity levels and temperature (I live in Alaska).”

“I used to shower every day, but when I moved to Colorado, my skin developed psoriasis in the dry climate. So now I only shower every other day, so my skin can retain some natural oils. I hate lotion, so that doesn’t help.”

“I grew up with eczema, so I wasn’t allowed to bathe very often. Got used to it. But I have a bidet in every home. (<:”

“I used to shower twice a day. I had disc surgery because of a pinched nerve in my neck that left my left arm almost unusable. My wife had to help me shower, so I cut back to once every other day. My arm is mostly usable again, and we updated the shower with a rain head and a wand, which makes cleaning much easier. So I’m getting back to once a day and will probably start showering twice a day again, even though since retiring, it’s not strictly necessary. I just enjoy them.”

“I showered daily when I worked. Now that I’m retired and not as active, I may go a day or two in between.”

“LESS NOW THAT I NO LONGER WORK.”

“I’m retired and just don’t need to more often.”

“It is enough.”

“I take baths the rest of the time. I only shower when washing my hair.”

“I take baths, too.”

“Having a chronic illness that causes daily pain and fatigue makes it tough to shower more than 2-3 times a week. A quick shower whenever I felt like it is definitely something I took for granted before getting sick. Enjoy them if you can!”

“Everything showers every Sunday are a great habit — a necessity to start the week refreshed.”

“Cleanliness is the best introduction to the day.”

“There are several major factors in play here: 1) male or female, and 2) do you sweat at work.”

“I read studies years ago that said it’s best not to bathe once or more a day unless, of course, you’ve sweat a lot with BO or gotten filthy some other way. The idea was that showering too much can strip away the oils your skin needs to stay healthy and protected. I don’t believe everything I read, but this came from a reliable source. Anyhoo, I promise I don’t and won’t offend anyone when I’m out in public! 😁”

“I found that your hair dries out and weakens with more than that. I shower in between if needed, and since I don’t work anymore, I can do that.”

“Why waste the water unless you have an unbearable odor going on, or you’re sweating like crazy? It should be reserved for more important things!”

“I’m claustrophobic, and the shower head is situated where the water hits me in the face or the back of my head. So I generally take tub baths.”
