Your Stylist Wants To Chat
Welcome back to Poll Of The Day — today’s question is getting a little chatty in the chair.

TODAY’S POLL
When you’re getting your hair, nails, or another personal grooming service done, how much do you prefer to chat with your stylist? |
LAST POLL RESULTS
31% of you voted 3,000 or less in yesterday’s poll: On average, how many steps do you get in each day?
“I’m disabled.”
“Diabetic neuropathy, for 70-plus years so far, makes walking very hard.”
“MY HIP BURSITIS MAKES IT BRUTAL TO WALK.”
“Before four vertebral compression fractures, I was getting in over 10,000 steps per day. Now, I do well to get in 500 steps per day.”
“Right now, I am suffering from daily chronic migraines and have gone from very active in both my job and life to nothing, unfortunately.”
“Remote work has killed my daily steps.”
“It’s difficult to get your steps in if you work at a desk all day, but I do plan on getting a walking pad to increase my steps.”
“I do run twice a week, so that more than makes up for the rest of the week.”
“I don’t count.”
“Thanks to CrossFit!”
“Who really knows?”
“Tough one to answer, for several reasons. If I stayed in my house full time, it would definitely be very few. But since I stay half time in my condo, I have to walk my dog several times a day due to no fenced-in backyard. Unfortunately, walking is painful for me, so I’m not able to do it much unless I have or need to.”
“I used to walk two miles every day with my dog, but then she passed, and I lost interest.”
“I have an eight-month-old puppy who I believe is a (very) well-trained dog and companion, so we spend over two hours a day at the park walking, training, and exercising six days a week. YES! I get my steps in!!!”
“I usually get only 2,000 – 3,000 steps on the days I don’t exercise, but 3 – 4 times a week, I get 6,000 – 10,000 steps in!”
“I averaged 6,000 steps a day last year, and now I’m aiming for 5,000+. It’s a comfortable pace and the time I can spare.”
“I sit at a desk all day, so it’s hard, but I try to get at least 6,000.”
“I strive for 10,000, but average about 6,000 daily. Most days, my watch hits Half Goal, but not so often Goal Met. :\”
“7,000 – 10,000 at 82 years YOUNG! :}”
“10,000 steps every day! All due to not owning a car in a city with poor public transportation.”
“I shoot for 10,000 when possible. It’s as much for my mental health as it is for my physical health. It’s a great way to clear my mind.”
“I was regularly getting 10,000, but I got out of the habit over the past several months. I felt much better when I was walking more.”
“I heard somewhere that the 10,000 steps a day was a marketing tool for a pedometer company and not scientifically proven.”
“I usually average about 15,000 steps at work.”
“36,000+.”
“I really can’t sit still for long. I’m always moving, haha.”
